History and Records Updated

The Records and History sections have been updated to reflect the 2016 season. Hunter Bates added his name to several categories of both the Season and Career totals. Hunter tied the record for victories in a season and finished tied for 4th in career victories. He finished 12th in career pins and 9th in career takedowns. Other BAGUBAs who joined the records pages were Anthony Mosser who became a 100 career win Jet and Ryan Ashley and Dylan Schumm who joined the season pins list at 10th and 24th respectively. The four brother combinations were added to the Brother records. Hunter and Parker Bates are currently 13th on that list while Anthony and Logan Mosser debuted at 15th. Dylan and Chandler Schumm are 32nd on the list while Nash and Trey Brunner are 36th. The team had another great season highlighted by an ACAC tournament championship. The Jets wrestled 10 teams for the first time this year and won 8 of those matches. Season Awards

The BAGUBAs wrapped up their season with the annual awards banquet. Three individual awards were presented. Hunter Bates received the BAGUBA of the Year award,, Chandler Schumm was Most Improved,  and the Mental Attitude award went to Logan Mosser. Congratulations, wrestlers, on another successful season.

State Finals

Hunter Bates ended his high school career on the medal stand at state with an 8th place finish. He defeated Diego Lemley from Chesterton on Friday night to advance, but was knocked into the consolation bracket with a decision loss to the eventual state champion at 152. Hunter's win on Friday also tied the school record for most victories in a season, 42. Congratulations on a great career and Senior season, Hunter!  The results of the Hunter's matches and the top team scores can be seen on this page.

Fort Wayne Semi-State

And the streak goes on! Hunter Bates' win at 152 over returning state qualifier, Doug Levitz, insured that a BAGUBA will participate in the state finals for the 18th consecutive year and 36th time out of the last 37 years! Hunter eventually placed second to the returning semi-state champion. Nick Liter (113) and Anthony Mosser (120) won their opening matches but lost in the round to qualify for state. Hunter will learn his opponent for Friday night later Sunday morning. The results of the championship and consolation matches along with the results of all AC matches can be found here.

Jay County Regional

AC advanced eight out of their ten regional entries to next week's semi-state while placing fourth in the team race. Hunter Bates (152) and Nick Liter (113) led the way with second place finishes while Nash Brunner (220) and Anthony Mosser (120) placed third. Chandler Schumm (195), Ryan Ashley (170), Logan Macklin (138) and Logan Mosser (106) advanced with fourth place finishes. The results of the placement round matches along with the results of all AC matches can be found on this page.

Jay County Sectional

The BAGUBAs used another strong performance in the final round to pass Jay County for the second week in a row. This time they were only able to claim the runner-up position to Bellmont, however. The Jets did tie the Braves in individual championships as Nick Liter (113) Logan Macklin (138), Hunter Bates (152), Nash Brunner (220) and Dylan Schumm (285) all finished first in the weight classes. Anthony Mosser (120) and Chandler Schumm (195) placed second for AC while Logan Mosser (106), Gabe Schwaller (126) and Ryan Ashley (170) advanced to next week's regional with top four finishes. ACAC Tournament

Things didn't look good for the BAGUBAs going into the final round of the conference tourney. They trailed round-robin champion Jay County by 20.5 points. Logan Mosser got the Jets rolling when stomach flu forced Wyatt Miller to default the 106 championship. Nick Liter (113) and Anthony Mosser (120) continued the momentum by pinning their Jay County opponents in championship matches and, when Gabe Schwaller pinned the Jay County entry in the 126 consolation match, the deficit and been wiped out in only four weight classes and AC help a 1.5 point lead. They never trailed again and won the tournament 255.5 to 246 over the second place Patriots from Jay County. Logan Macklin (132), Hunter Bates (152) and Dylan Schumm (285) added championships for the Jets. Every BAGUBA who wrestled finished in the top 4 in a true team win. Warren Duals

AC went 4-1 to finish second at the Warren Duals in Indianapolis. There only loss was to Class 3A Team State runner-up by a 72-0 score. The four victories were over Roncalli 46-34, Ben Davis 44-33, Perry Meridian B 40-33, and Indianapolis Arsenal Tech 63-4. Logan Mosser, Hunter Bates, Ryan Ashley and Nash Brunner all went 4-1 on the day to lead the Jets. The individual results of all the duals can be found on here.

Jet Invitational Super Dual

The BAGUBAs captured the championship of their own dual tournament. Bishop Dwenger was the only team to challenge them in their pool as they defeated Norwell 60-19 and Southwood 75-6 before winning against the Saints by a 39-26 score. The Jets won easily against Churubusco in the next round, 51-20. Then, they defeated the Carroll B squad 48-24 to seal the championship. Anthony Mosser and Hunter bates were the only two Jets to go undefeated for the day, but Logan Mosser, Nick Liter, Chandler Schumm and Dylan Schumm all finished the day with a 4-1 record. Adams Central 52 Homestead 21

AC renewed a rivalry with a former ACAC member, Homestead, and came away with a 52-21 victory. Logan Mosser, Logan Macklin, Brant Thieme, Lucas Collier, Hunter Bates, and Dylan Schumm all had falls for the BAGUBAs while Nash Brunner won by forfeit. IHSWCA State Team Duals Tournament

The BAGUBAs finished one placer higher than their seed at this year's team state duals. They defeated Triton 56-15 and Knightstown 57-12 to win their pool and advance to the championship bracket. Their first match there was a loss to eventual champion Prairie Heights by a 45-19 score. They lost several close decision in the consolation match resulting in a 39-27 loss to Monrovia. Nick Liter, Anthiny Mosser, Logan Macklin, Hunter Bates, Ryan Ashley, and Dylan Scumm all went 3-1 for the tournament. The individual results of all four duals can be found on this page.

New Haven Duals Tournament

AC finished 5th in the 10 team New Haven Duals tournament with a 3-2 record. The Jets defeated Indianapolis Lutheran 78-6, Mooresville 38-36 and New Haven 48-33. Their losses were to Leo 46-27 and Elkhart Memorial 53-21. Logan Mosser, Hunter Bates and Dylan Schumm all went 5-0 on the day. The individual results of the duals can be seen here.

Adams Central 49 South Adams 24

The score was closer, but the Jets still easily defeated county rival South Adams by a 49-24 score. Parker Bates, Gabe Schwaller, Logan Macklin, Brant Thieme, and Ryan Ashley all scored falls for AC while Hunter Bates and Dylan Schumm won by forfeit. Nick Liter won by decision and Trey Brunner had a decision to complete the scoring for the BAGUBAs. Individual matches results including the JV match can be found on this page.

ACAC Duals Tournament

The Jets won five of their six matches in the inaugural ACAC duals tournament with ease, but they came up short against Jay County and had to settle for second place. AC defeated Southern Wells 55-18, Woodlan 59-12, Heritage 63-15, Bluffton 59-18, and South Adams 66-10. The loss to Jay County was by a 42-31 score. Ryan Ashley led the way for the BAGUBAs with six wins by fall. Anthony Mosser also won all 6 of his matches. Parker Bates, Chandler Schumm, and Dylan Schumm all went 5-0 for the tourney with all 5 of Dylan's wins coming by fall. The results of all six duals can be seen here.

Yorktown 48 Adams Central 12

The BAGUBAs made the long drive to Yorktown to wrestle the ninth rated Tigers and were disappointed by a 48-12 loss. Only three varsity wrestlers were able to win their matches as the Tiger's depth proved too much. Ryan Ashley scored the only fall for the Jets at 182. Logan Mosser and Dylan Schumm won decisions at 106 and 285. Individual matches results including the JV matches can be found on this page.

Coldwater Duals

AC traveled across the state line for the first time ever to participate in the Coldwater Duals in Coldwater, OH. The Jets won their pool and tied Tinora, OH in the championship match, but lost the title on tie breaker criteria. Nick Liter, Anthony Mosser, Hunter Bates, and Ryan Ashley all went 5-0 for the day. Dylan Schumm and Nash Brunner were also undefeated splitting the duties at 285. Dylan finished 3-0 and Nash was 2-0. Logan Mosser and Chandler Schumm both finished with only 1 loss and 4 wins. The BAGUBAs next match will be Tuesday at state power Yorktown. The results from all five duals can be seen here.

Bellmont 35 Adams Central 24

The Jets started the season with a close loss to county rival Bellmont. The BAGUBAs won 5 individual matches, three by fall. Freshmen Logan Mosser and Logan Macklin started their high school careers with pins at 106 and 138. Nick Liter had the other fall for AC at 113. Hunter Bates and Dylan Schumm won by decision to complete the scoring for the Jets. The results of all of the individual matches plus the JV matches can be found on this page.

2015-2016 Roster

Twenty-five BAGUBAs make up the 2015 - 2016 roster. This year's team will be young with 9 freshmen and 8 sophomores. Three seniors will lead the team along with 5 juniors. Anthony Mosser returns after qualifying for state in 2015, He'll be joined by semi-state qualifiers Nick Liter, Hunter Bates, and Nash Brunner. The entire roster can be seen here.
