Pages Updated

This year's BAGUBAs added their names to several of the season and career record totals. Isiah Bollenbacher tied the single season record for pins while Kaine Luginbill and Luke Liter both made the top 10 in career pins. Three of the seniors, Andy Oliver, Luke Liter, and Kaine Luginbill, finished in the 100 career win club with 100, 107, and 116, respectively. Kaine also finished tied for the second most season wins with 41. Those 41 wins moved Kaine and his brother Chantz up to fourth for most victories by brothers. The Jets wrestled four teams for the first time this year, Warsaw, South Bend St. Joseph, Northridge, and Bremen, defeating all but South Bend St. Joseph. 2015 State Finals

Kaine Luginbill broke a five year string of BAGUBAs losing on Friday night at state by defeating his Southmont opponent by a major decision. He followed that up by pinning the third ranked 170 pounder Saturday morning on his way to winning the fourth place medal. AC did lose their other state qualifier on Friday as Anthony Mosser lost by fall. As a team, the Jets finished tied for 30th out of 116 teams who qualified a wrestler for the finals. Fort Wayne Semi-State

AC will be represented at state for the 17th straight year and 35th time out of the last 36 years as Anthony Mosser and Kaine Luginbill advanced out of the Fort Wayne Semi-state. Anthony finished fourth at 113 and Kaine was runner-up at 170. Hunter Bates came withing one match of advancing but fell by decision. Jay County Regional

Seven BAGUBAs qualified for next week's Semi-State at the Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne. All seven Jets placed in the top 3 of their weight class. Anthony Mosser was the lone champion for AC winning the 113 pound weight class. Hunter Bates and Kaine Luginbill finished in second. Nick Liter, Luke Liter, Nash Brunner, and Isiah Bollenbacher were the other BAGUBAs to advance. The results of the championship, consolation, and other AC matches can be found here.

Jay County Sectional

AC placed seven BAGUBAs in the finals, won four championships, and advanced 10 wrestlers to the regional level next week as they finished second to Belmont at the Jay County Wrestling Sectional. Anthony Mosser, Hunter Bates, Kaine Luginbill, and Isiah Bollenbacher won sectional championships for AC while Nick Liter, Luke Liter, and Nash Brunner finished second. Trevor Free, Tucker Miller, and Ryan Ashley finished in the top 4 to advance. Every Jet placed in the top 6 and scored team points. ACAC Tourney

The BAGUBAs dominated the final round of the 2015 conference tourney to pull away from Leo. The lead was only 3.5 points going into the placement round, but AC claimed six championships to only one for Leo to win by 28.5. Anthony Mosser, Hunter Bates, Luke Liter, Karthon McCullough, Kaine Luginbill, and Isiah Bollenbacher were the champions for AC. Nick Liter finished second. Adams Central 72 Heritage 6

The Jets won 12 of the 13 weight classes wrestled against conference foe Heritage to win in dominating fashion. Heritage forfeited seven weight classes and the Jets won five matches by fall. Individual results for the dual are on this page.

Warren Central Super Dual

AC had a good showing at Warren Central, finishing 3-2 against strong competition. The Jets only losses were to state ranked Warren Central and Ben Davis. Luke Liter was the only BAGUBA to have a perfect 5-0 record for the day. The individual results for duals can be seen here.

AC Super Dual

The BAGUBAs went 5-0 to win their own super dual. The format was changed because weather prevented Southwood from participating. AC defeated Bluffton, FW Snider, Delta, Norwell, and Bishop Dwenger. Nick Liter, Anthony Mosser, Andy Oliver,  and Hunter Bates went 5-0 on the day while Karthon McCullough was 4-0. The individual results for all five duals can be found on this page.

IHSWCA Team State

AC stood atop the 1A championship podium for the second time in the three year history of the Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Team State. The BAGUBAs won their pool with victories over defending champion Churubusco and Eastside. They then easily dispatched Bremen to earn their way into the championship match. They faced #1 ranked Prairie Heights in the finals. The title was still in doubt as the last match started with the Jets holding a four point lead. Ryan Ashley came through with the victory to insure a seven point win for AC and their second title.  Anthony Mosser, Andy Oliver, Hunter Bates, Luke Liter and Kaine Luginbill were undefeated with 4-0 records. Tucker Miller appeared in the varsity line-up for the first time this year and finished the day 3-1. All of the individual results for the four duals can be seen here.

Yorktown Superdual

The BAGUBAs finished 2-2 in the tougher of the two pools at Yorktown. They defeated Floyd Central and Maconaquah while losing to Elkhart Memorial and host Yorktown. In the cross-bracketed placement round the Jets avenged an early season loss to Leo by defeating them 50-27 for 5th place. The best match of the day featured a fall by Kaine Luginbill over Yorktown's Dillon Jackson. Jackson is ranked first in the Fort Wayne semi-state and eighth in the state at 170 pounds. Luke Liter and Isiah Bollenbacher went 5-0 for the day while Andy Oliver and Kaine Luginbill were also undefeated with 4-0 records. The results for all five duals can be found on this page.

ACAC Quad Duals

AC swept three conference opponents at the ACAC Duals, winning all of the matches with ease. The Jets won 30 of 41 matches wresled on the night with 25 victories coming by fall. Nick Liter, Anthony Mosser, Andy Oliver, Hunter Bates, Kaine Luginbill, and Isiah Bollenbacher all went 3-0 while Ryan Ashley was 2-0 on the night and Corban Oschner won his only match of the night. Adams Central 50 South Adams 18

The Jets won 10 of 14 matches on their way to a dominant victory over rival South Adams. The big match for the BAGUBAs was Hunter Bates over the Starfires Boaz Marbach by an 11-4 score. Nick Liter, Karthon McCullough, and Kyle Brown scored falls for the Jets while Corban Ochsner, Ryan Ashley, and Kaine Luginbill received forfeits. Andy Oliver won by tech fall while Anthony Mosser and Brandt Thieme had decisions to go along with the Bates victory. Leo 39 Adams Central 36

It all came down to the last match between two undefeated wrestlers. Isaac Eicher of Leo was able to score a third period takedown of Hunter Bates and held on for a 2-0 win giving Leo the team match 39-36. AC won six matches with 5 falls and a forfeit. Anthony Mosser, Andy Oliver, Karthon McCullough, Kaine Luginbill, and Chandler Schumm had falls while Isiah won by forfeit. Bellmont 51 Adams Central 18

The overall strength of the Bellmont roster proved too much for the Jets as they fell 51-18 to their county rivals. Only four BAGUBAs scored victories for the AC. Isiah Bollenbacher led the way with a fall at 285 while Hunter Bates (145) and Kaine Luginbill (170) won by decision. Nick Liter received a forfeit at 106 to complete the Jet scoring. There were several close matches and exciting wrestling on the night. The individual results of both the varsity and JV matches can be found here.

Warsaw Invitational

The Jets started their season by finishing third in their first appearance at the Warsaw Invitation. They went 3-2 as a team on the day, losing two close matches to Huntington North and South Bend St. Joseph. Andy Oliver, Hunter Bates, Kaine Luginbill, and Isiah Bollenbacher all went 5-0 and were crowned champions of their weight class. AC now has the Thanksgiving week off before returning to the mat against county rival Bellmont on Tuesday, December 2nd. You can see the individual results of the tournament at this page.

2014-2015 Roster Announced

Twenty-four BAGUBA's will make up the roster for the 2014-2015 season. Ten letter winners return along two others with varsity matches under their belt. Eight freshmen join the team this year as well as four other new wrestlers. Go to the Roster page to see the line up with their projected weights for this season.

Schedule For 2014-2015 Season Released

The schedule for this year's season has been added to the website. The BAGUBA's will begin the season by participating in a super dual at Warsaw High School. This tourney will replace the John Hurrle Invitational at Arsenal Tech in Indianapolis. The Bellmont match has also moved to an early in date this year. The other highlight of the schedule is the third annual coach's the state duals. This year's duals will be held at Ball State University instead of in Indianapolis. School will start soon and that means the 2014 - 2015 season will be starting, too.  Watch for updates as it gets closer.  You can still review the updates from past season using the links at the top of this page.
