Indiana High School Wrestling Coaches Association (IHSWCA) Team State Duals

Adams Central fans have known for years that AC has the best small school wrestling program in Indiana and on Saturday they got the chance to prove it to the rest of the state.  The coaches association created a new classed team state tournament to replace the one dropped by the IHSAA this year.  Teams were invited based on how their underclassmen placed in last year's individual tournament.  The BAGUBAs entered the day seeded number 1 in class A and easily lived up to their billing.  No of the three teams they faced cam within 20 points of the Jets with the closest match being the 46-23 win over Churubusco in the championship match.  Adams Cook, Cody Walburn, Derek Ellinger, Kaine Luginbill, Mason Call, and Ben Pfister all went 3-0 on the day,  Adam, Kaine, and Mason won all three of their matches by fall.  Cody Walburn was named the Outstanding Wreslter for Class A teams in a vote of the coaches.  The Jets get a well deserved break over Christmas now and will resume with a dual against conference for Heritage on January 3.  The results of all three duals lead to today's championship can be seen on this page.

Yorktown Duals

Adams Central finished fourth at the Yorktown Duals this year.  The Jets started strong by winning their first three matches by comfortable scores, but they met the Class AA #1 ranked Yorktown Tigers in round and could not match their team strength.  An injury and sickness forced AC to use a modified line up for the consolation match and they fell to New Haven, finishing fourth.  Cody Walburn was the only BAGUBA to go undefeated for the day.  Luke Liter and Ben Pfister both finished 4-1.  The individual results of all five duals can be found on this page.
