Records/History Pages Updated

The Records and History pages have been updated for the 2022-2023 reasons. The BAGUBAs finished the year 22-6. They wrestled 7 teams for the first time: Calumet, Faith Christian, Lafayette Central Catholic, New Prairie, North Newton, Rossville, and Whitko. They won all of those matches except New Prairie. Trevor Currie, Zac Wurm, Keegan Bluhm, Caden Fun, Gavin Cook and Logan Uhlman all added their names the the season wins total while Zac Wurm, Keegan Bluhm, and Gavin Cook made the season pins list. Zac set a new record for most pins in a season with 33. Logan Uhlman, Trevor Currie and Gavin Cook joined the Career Wins leaders as each topped 100 wins. Logan Uhlman and Trevor Currie Also made the Career Pins leaders. Logan Uhlman and Zac Wurm joined the list of state qualifiers. There were several changes was to the Brother Records page. Trevor and Alex Currie moved into the #2 spot while Logan Uhlman and Caden Shaffer moved up to 8th place. Wyatt, Evan and Jacob McAfee are now in 22nd place and Cashton and Chance Reynolds moved up to 47th. Five new brother combinations were added for the list this year. Caden and Ethan Funk, Keegan and Hayden Bluhm, Eddie and Joey Everett, Max and Myles Kaehr, Ryan and Max Byerly and Lucas and Gavin Rumple were the new brothers added. The biggest change was that the name of the page was changed. AC has now had two Brother/Sister combinations with varsity wins, so this page is now the Siblings Records. Andy and Sammy Oliver were the first brother and sister to wrestle for the Jets and this year Anvalie and Ezra Liechty joined them. You can see the updated pages with the links below.

State Finals

Adams Central's streak of having a BAGUBA medal at state ended at three when both Jets lost on Friday night. Logan Uhlman lost a close 1-point decision and Zac Wurm lost by fall late in the second period. You can find the scores for the top 10 teams and the results of the AC matches on this page.

Fort Wayne Semi-State

There will be a BAGUBA at the state finals for the 24th year in a row. This is the third year in a row that more than one wrestler advanced. Logan Uhlman and Zac Wurm both finished second in their weight classes to advance to Friday's matches. All five Jets who wrestled won their first match at semi-state to help AC finished tied for seventh in the team scoring. Jay County Regional

Six BAGUBAs won matches and advanced to semi-state level this yer. Gavin Cook, Logan Uhlman and Trevor Currie finished as runner-up in their weight classes while Maverick Dubach, Keegan Bluhm and Zac Wurm placed third. AC finished fourth in the team race. the didn't have any individual champions at this  You can see the placement round results along with the results for all of the AC matches on this page.

Jay County Sectional

The BAGUBAs didn't have any individual champions at this year's sectional, but they advanced 12 out of 14 to regional. Maverick Dubach, Gavin Cook, Logan Uhlman, Trevor Currie, Keegan Bluhm and Zac Wurm all finished second to lead the Jets. AC finished third in the team race. ACAC Tournament

Jay County successfully defended their regular season championship and took home the tournament trophy as well. The BAGUBAs finished second. All three number 1 seeds won their weight classes. Caden Funk won a close match at 152 while Trevor Currie and Keegan Bluhm pinned their finals opponents. This was Trevor's third championship in three years. Jet Invitational

The score was close going onto the final round of the Jet invitational, but the BAGUBAs pulled away with seven champions to win by easily. Maverick Dubach, Gavin Cook, Logan Uhlman, Caden Funk, Wyatt McAfee, Trevor Currie and Zac Wurm were champions of their weight classes. This tournament was different because AC entered their JV team as well. The coaches also elected to insert extra wrestlers in place of forfeits on other teams. These changes meant that all 25 Jets got a chance to wrestle varsity competition. The placement round and results for all of the BAGUBAs can be found on this page.

Delta 37 AC 35

The Jets lost a close match to 2A power Delta, 37-35. The BAGUBAs made te most of their six victories by getting pins from Zac Wurm, Jaret Smith, Gavin Cook, Logan Uhlman and Trevor Currie along with the a forfeit win for Keegan Bluhm. Delta won the other eight matches with just enough difference to pull out the win. The individual results for the varsity and JV matches can be found here.

IHSWCA Team State

The BAGUBAs entered this year's team state as the number three seed, but finished one better as the runner-up in class 1A. AC had a first round bye and hen faced conference foe Bluffton in the second round. The Jets easily dispatched the Tigers, 58-12. The most exciting match of the day was next against number 2 seed Cascade. Cascade won the light weights and built a 37-23 lead with just three matches to go, but the AC big guys came through with three consecutive pins to move the Jets into the championship match with a 41-47 win. The BAGUBAs faced number 4 seed in the finals after they upset number 1 seed Rochester. AC couldn't match up with the defending champion and Tell City insured a three-peat with a 49-27 win. Wyatt McAfee, Trevor Currie and Keegan Bluhm all won all over their matches for the day with Trevor pinning all of his foes. Willey Holiday Duals

AC lost their first dual of the Lafayette Jeff Duals to New Prairie by a 48-27 score. Then, they easily swept the remaining nine matches. The BAGUBAs defeated Rossville 69-12, Faith Christian 60-18, Clinton Central 59-13, Lafayette Central Catholic 79-0, Kokomo 60-18, North Newton 68-9, Calumet 66-6, Lafayette Jeff 58-18 and West Lafayette 62-13. Gavin Cook, Caden Funk and Zac Wurm won all 10 of their individual matches while Maverick Dubach, Logan Uhlman, Wyatt McAfee and Keegan Bluhm won nine out of 10. Bellmont 45 AC 30

The Jets fell behind early against county foe Bellmont and weren't ever to make it all the way back. The BAGUBAs need falls in the last four matches to gain a tie and got those pins in the first two matches, but a decision in the third match put the final score out of reach and they fell 45-30. Wyatt McAfee, Zac Wurm, Maverick Dubach and Gavin Cook pinned their Bellmont opponents. Trevor Currie remained undefeated with a decision. Yorktown Super 10 Duals

The BAGUBAs went 3-1 in their pool and then defeated New Haven for the second time in a week to finish third at the Yorktown Duals. The only loss was to Avon by a 44-24 score. They defeated Maconaquah 43-30, Whitko 78-6, Lakeland 48-27 and New Haven 54-21. Caden Funk, Trevor Currie and Keegan Bluhm kept their record perfect by winning all five of the matches. AC 48 Columbia City 27

Injuries and sickness caused AC to forfeit three weight classes to Columbia City, but the BAGUBAs won nine of the eleven matches wrestled to record a 48-27 win. Gavin Cook, Logan Uhlman, Max Byerly, Caden Funk, Cashton Reynolds, Dakota Perry and Zac Wurm scored falls for the Jets. The results of all varsity and JV matches can be found on this page.

AC 54 New Haven 24

The BAGUBAs fell behind New Haven early, but stormed back with seven six-point decisions in eight matches to lock up a 54-24 victory. Myles Kaehr, Maverick Dubach, Caden Funk, Cashton Reynolds, Trevor Currie, Keegan Bluhm and Zac Wurm all pinned their Bulldog opponents. Wyatt McAfee won by injury default and Ezra Liechty accepted a forfeit to round out the AC scoring. The results of all varsity and JV matches can be seen here.

ACAC Duals

Adams Central lost their opening match to conference favorite Jay County 50-19, but bounced back to dominate the rest of their opponents and finish in second with a 5-1 record. The Jets defeated Southern Wells 83-0, Heritage 82-0, South Adams 46-30, Woodlan 67-12 and Bluffton 48-21. BAGUBAs Caden Funk, Trevor Currie and Keegan Bluhm finished with undefeated 6-0 records and Dakota Perry won all three of the matches he wrestled. Five other BAGUBAs finished he tournament with only one loss in six matches. You can find the results of all matches on this page.

2022-23 Roster Announced

The Jets will begin their season with 25 BAGUBAs on the roster. Two state qualifiers, Seniors Logan Uhlman and Gavin Cook lead the way. They will be joined by three more Seniors, five Juniors and five Sophomores. Ten Freshmen round out the roster. You can view the entire roster here.

2022-23 Schedule Released

The schedule for the 2022-2023 is now available.  A dual with Norwell has been added, replacing Concordia. The tournament at Rensselaer was dropped due to a date conflict. A two-day tournament may be added in December if enough teams are available. You can view the new schedule on this page.

2021-22 Schedule/Roster Reset

The schedule and roster pages have been reset to prepare for 2022-2023. They will be updated after practice begins and this year's roster and schedule are known.
