Season Recap

The Records and History sections of the website have been updated to include the 2021-2022 results. The BAGUBAs wrestled eleven teams for the first time this season and finished with a 9-2 record against them. The Jets scored victories against Cascade, Concordia Lutheran, Decatur Central, Frankfort, Jennings County, South Bend Washington, South Dearborn, West Lafayette and Westview while falling to Hamilton Heights and Tell City. The team finished with a 20-10 record and were the ACAC Tournament Champions. The Currie brothers moved to fifth on the brother list, Cayden Shaffer/Logan Uhlman moved up to 15th and the Collier brothers went to 43rd. A new brother team joined the standings when Wesley Lehman joined Aiden Cummings as the 41st brother team in the list. The Jets had four more state qualifiers as Logan Uhlman, Alex Currie and Blake Heyerly all returned to Indianapolis and Gavin Cook qualified for the first time. This year's team also added their names to several of the individual records. Alex Currie and Blake Heyerly finish as the top two in season victories with 47 for Alex and 45 for Blake. Trevor Currie also made the top ten with 41 wins and Caden Funk joined the list with 36. Blake also tied for most pins in a season with 29 and Alex tied for 11th with 27. Alex and Blake also added their names to the career records page. Alex has the most career wins of any wrestler in AC history with 161 and Blake is fourth on that list with 141. Alex has the most career pins for the Jets with 96 and Blake tied for second with 87. Finally, Alex finished second on the list for consecutive wins with 47. Wrestling State Finals

AC took the the second most qualifiers ever to the State Finals and and had two medal winners for the sixth time in school history and the first time since 1997. Blake Heyerly led the way with a fifth place finish. Logan Uhlman placed eighth. Blake becomes the sixth BAGUBA to win multiple state medals. Gavin Cook and Alex Currie saw their seasons end with decisions on Friday night. Crown Point set a new scoring record in the team race. Adams Central finished tied for 29th with a lucky 13 points. New Haven Wrestling Semi-State

The BAGUBAs had a great day at semi-state, advancing four wrestlers to the state finals. That is the second most ever to advance in one year and the most since 1990. The Jets won 6 or their seven first round matches and then four of six matches in the ticket round. Advancing for AC were Gavin Cook, fourth at 126, Logan Uhlman, second at 132, Alex Currie, second at 152 and Blake Heyerly, the 220 semi-state champion. The team champion came down to the last match of the day. Rochester won the heavyweight championship in overtime to edge out the BAGUBAs 82.5 to 80. Jay County Wrestling Regional

Seven BAGUBAs advanced to next weeks Semi-state with a top 4 finish at regional. Alex Currie (152) and Blake Heyerly (220) were regional champions while Gavin Cook (126) and Logan Uhlman (132) finished second. Caden Funk (160)  and Trevor Currie (182) placed third while Keegan Bluhm (195) ended the day in fourth. The Jets placed third as a team behind Bellmont and Jay County. Jay County Wrestling Sectional

The BAGUBAs came out strong winning 12 matches in the first round by pin or forfeits to take an early lead in this year's sectional. Four of the victories were over opponents they had lost to previously. AC held onto the lead until late in the final round when Bellmont's depth pulled them through for a close 6 point victory. All 12 of the wrestlers who won the first round advanced to next week's regional. Evan McAfee (145), Alex Currie (152) and Blake Heyerly (220) were champions for the Jets. Gavin Cook (126), Logan Uhlman (132), Caden Funk (160) , Trevor Currie (182) and Keegan Bluhm (195) placed second. ACAC Conference Tournament

The Jets put 10 BAGUBAs in the championship round and held off a charge by regular season champion Jay County to win the ACAC tournament 281.5 - 261. AC got championships from Evan McAfee (145), Alex Currie (152), Trevor Currie (182) and Blake Heyerly (220). Wesley Lehman (106), Eddie Everett (120), Gavin Cook (126), Logan Uhlman (132), Caden Funk (160) and Keegan Bluhm (195) placed second. All 14 BAGUBAs finished in the top 4 of their weight class. Wrestling Jet Invitational

The BAGUBAs dominated their Wrestling Jet Invitational scoring 406.5 points to 291 for second place Bishop Dwenger. Eleven Jets made it to the championship match with Gavin Cook (126), Logan Uhlman (132), Alex Currie (152), Caden Funk (160), Trevor Currie (182), Keegan Bluhm (195) and Blake Heyerly (220) taking titles. Eddie Everett (120), Matt Heiser (138), Evan McAfee (145) and Zac Wurm (285) finished second. The other three BAGUBAs finished in the top 4. One team was a late cancellation, so all of the available JV wrestlers were able to compete as well. The JV team finished 8th out of 10 teams. Adams Central 57 Delta 19

The Jets faced their second straight 2A state duals participant and this time came away with a 57-19 win. Six BAGUBAs recorded pins, Evan McAfee (145), Caden Funk (160), Keegan Bluhm (195), Blake Heyerly (200), Zac Wurm (285) and Logan Uhlman (132). Trevor Currie (182) and Jaret Smith (113) received forfeits. There were no JV matches, so only the results of the varsity matches will be found here.

Bellmont 46 Adams Central 18

The BAGUBAs took on county rival and 2A team state champion Bellmont and fell by a 46-18 score. Four Jets won their individual matches, including all three seniors. Evan McAfee and Alex Currie won their matches by pin while Blake Heyerly and Junior Gavin Cook won by decision. You can find the results of the varsity and JV matches on this page.

IHSWCA Team State

AC entered team state as the number 7 seed, but went 3-1 and finished two places higher in 5th place. The Jets defeated Southmont  54-21, North Posey 42-35 and Cascade 48-25. There only loss was to eventual champion Tell City by a 40-31 score. Evan McAfee, Alex Currie, Trevor Currie, Keegan Bluhm and Blake Heyerly all went undefeated for the tournament. Homestead 37 Adams Central 29

The Jets couldn't get falls against Homestead and fell by a nine point decision. Blake Heyerly and Zac Wurm were the only BAGABAs to pin their opponents. The Currie brothers added major decisions. You can find the results of the varsity and JV matches on this page.

Adams Central 69 FW Concordia 9

Adams Central had a match during Christmas break for the first time in several years and celebrated the holidays with a 69-9 victory over Fort Wane Concordia. Six BAGUBAs recorded pins in the match, Eddie Everett (120), Wyatt Smith (126) Gavin Cook (132), Max Kaehr (145), Alex Currie (160) and Braydon Moon (195). Five other Jets won by forfeit. Joe Burvan Holiday Duals (Rensselaer)

The Jets made their first appearance at the Joe Burvan Holiday Duals against teams from all over the state and finsih the two day tournament with a 7-2 record. The BAGUBAs defeated  Decatur Central (50-21), Jennings COunty (69-9), Frankfort (60-19), Kokomo (54-25), South Dearborn (57-24), West Lafayette (60-14) and Rensselaer Central (39-34). Their only losses were to Southport (42-37) and Hamilton Hieghts (45-27). Alex Currie was the only Jet to finish the tournament undefeated. Evan McAfee, Caden Funk and Blake Heyerly went 8-1. New Haven Super Duals

The BAGUBAs finished the day at New Haven with a 3-2 records. They recorded wins over South Bend Washington (72-12), Westview (72-6) and Lakeland (60-15) while falling to Prairie Heights (51-18) and Yorktown (41-32). Gavin Cook, Alex Currie, Caden Funk and Trevor Currie went undefeated for the day. Zac Wurm finished with only one loss. The results of all five varsity duals are on this page.

Columbia City 41 Adams Central 33

The match with Columbia City came down to the last weight class, but the Eagles were able pull out the win with a deciding pin. The BAGUBAs were able to record fours pins in the contest. Those matches were won by Trevor Currie, Blake Heyerly, Eddie Everett and Gavin Cook. The results of the individual varsity and JV matches can be found here.

Adams Central 42 New Haven 36

AC started strong against New Haven by winning four of the first five matches by fall. Then the Bulldogs made their own run with four straight pins to take the lead. AC came back to win the last 3 matches to pull out the victory. Evan McAfee, Alex Currie, Trevor Currie, Braydon Moon and Blake Heyerly all records falls for the Jets and Gavin Cook won by technical fall. ACAC Duals

The BAGUBAs finished the ACAC round-robin duals with a 4-2 record good for third place. A close 36-35 loss to Bluffton kept them from placing second. AC won over Woodlan, Heritage, South Adams and Southern Wells. Their other loss was to Jay County. Three Jets, Alex Currie, Blake Heyerly and Trevor Currie went undefeated for the tournament. 2020-21 Varsity Schedule Updated

The varsity events have been added to the 2021-22 schedule. JV events are still being worked on and will be added later. As always, the early events are subject to being rescheduled if the football season requires events to be delayed. 2020-21 Schedule/Roster Reset

The schedule and roster pages have been reset to prepare for 2021-2022. They will be updated after practice begins and this year's roster and schedule are known.
